Pilates for Scoliosis: Principles & Practice - New Workshop this November

As Pilates instructors, we know that no two bodies move the same way. But when it comes to scoliosis—a three-dimensional condition of the spine—the differences are even more pronounced. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our newest continuing education course: Pilates for Scoliosis: Principles & Practice.

This two-day workshop is designed to give you the tools and confidence to work with clients who have scoliosis, whether in a private setting or as part of a group class.

Why This Training Matters

Scoliosis affects millions of people worldwide, and many of them are looking to Pilates as a safe, effective way to improve their mobility, strength, and comfort. Yet for many instructors, scoliosis feels intimidating—it can be difficult to know where to begin. This course helps bridge that gap.

By learning to recognize curve patterns, adapt repertoire, and apply scoliosis-specific strategies, you’ll be able to:

  • Support clients with greater precision and empathy

  • Offer modifications that keep movement safe and accessible

  • Expand your teaching skill set and professional value

  • Bring new depth to your understanding of anatomy and movement

What You’ll Learn

Over two days, you’ll explore:

  • Anatomical changes to the scoliotic body and movement adaptations

  • Guiding rotational angular breathing

  • Axial elongation exercises for all curve types

  • Adapting Pilates repertoire to be scoliosis-friendly

  • Curve-specific propping theory and application

  • Curve-specific exercises and modifications on the mat, reformer, and Cadillac

Whether you’re adapting group classes to be more inclusive or working privately with scoliotic bodies, this course will help you enhance your clients’ comfort and function.

A Step Toward Becoming a More Confident, Compassionate Teacher

The best Pilates instructors are always learning, refining, and expanding their skills. By diving into scoliosis-specific education, you’re not only meeting the needs of a unique population—you’re also reinforcing your role as a trusted, knowledgeable movement professional.

Clients will notice the difference when you can say with confidence, “Yes, I can support you.”
