Is Now the Right Time for Pilates Teacher Training? Here’s How to Know.

If you're thinking about becoming a Pilates instructor, you might be wondering: Am I ready for teacher training?
Which is a great question—and one we love helping people explore. ☺️

At Mindful Movement Centre, we offer a respected Pilates teacher training program in Toronto (and beyond) that’s known for being both comprehensive and flexible. Whether you’re aiming to teach or just want to dive deeper into your practice, our training provides a rich foundation in anatomy, movement, and the Pilates method.

That said, we do require a minimum of 100 hours of Pilates classes (over at least one year) before joining the training. Why? Because Pilates is best learned first in your own body. The depth and clarity that come from consistent personal practice are what make you a thoughtful, confident, and effective teacher.

So if you're newer to Pilates, here's our gentle advice: take your time. Spend a year and take as many Pilates classes as you can. Immerse yourself in the movement. Get to know your body through the lens of this incredible method. It’s not just preparation—it’s part of the journey.

If you're someone with a consistent Pilates practice—someone who’s felt the difference it can make in your own body, or experienced its transformative power through regular, dedicated classes—then yes, this is absolutely the time. You don’t need to be an expert. What matters most is your lived experience with the method and your desire to share it. We’ve designed our program to meet you there.

Whether you’ve been committed to Pilates for months or years, teacher training can be a powerful next step—one that deepens your understanding, strengthens your personal practice, and opens the door to sharing this work with others.
