Better Together: Why February Is the Perfect Time to Move With a Friend

Family Day weekend often brings a small pause in the usual rhythm of life…. a chance to slow down, reconnect, and spend time doing things that feel nourishing and fun!

If you’re in town over the long weekend, we’ve added a handful of thoughtfully scheduled classes to make it easy to spend some time in the studio. Below is the Family Day weekend class schedule, with Bring a Friend classes clearly marked.

Bring a Friend Classes

Some of the classes over the Family Day weekend are designated as Bring a Friend classes, a simple invitation to share your practice with someone you care about.

These sessions are intentionally welcoming and accessible, whether your guest is completely new to Pilates or just curious about the way you move at MMC. There’s no pressure and no expectations - just an opportunity to show up together.

There’s also a well-known “buddy system” effect in movement and fitness. Research out of Berkeley has shown that having a partner can support consistency and follow-through, even without incentives or pressure. Sometimes, simply having someone there makes us more consistent in our practice…which in turn helps us to achieve the goals we have set for ourselves. So bring your bestie along, and move together!

Planning Your Visit

If you’re a member or have a class package, you can use one of your credits to bring a friend at no additional cost. If you don’t currently have a package, there’s also a limited-time option to attend together using a buy-one-get-one class pass.

To bring a friend, simply book yourself into a ✨👯✨ class and email hello@mindfulmovementcentre.com with your friend’s name, email, phone number, and the class you’ll attend together. We’ll take care of the rest.
